Sitting impatiently on the green velvet sofa, you avidly track the delivery driver via your chrome iPhone, the blue dot indicating their imminent arrival. Peeping through the oak slated blinds, you wait in anticipation of a knock at the front door.
Spying a shadowy outline of a person approaching, you jump, startled by the sudden loud hammering, despite knowing it was about to happen. Composing yourself, you wait a few seconds to avoid looking overly eager. You've been looking forward to this parcel arriving.
Ripping the box open, you reveal a new black record player with shiny chrome knobs and trimmings. Sliding it into the ready-prepped gap on the sideboard, you unravel the cable and plug it into one of the single polished chrome sockets on the wall, catching sight of your excited face in the reflection.
Thumbing through your vinyl collection, you pluck out your favourite. Removing it from the sleeve, you position it on the turntable and lower the needle, listening as the nostalgic crackle fills the room.
Hips swaying, you twirl around your soothing green living room, completely content. Light bounces from the chrome light switches and sockets, glimmering glitterball-like as you dance. Turning the music up and dimming the ceiling lights down low, you continue your solo party, totally lost in the music.
