Scouring the beach, you kick rogue pebbles rebelliously, watching as they dart across the sand before being carried out to sea by the encroaching tide. A glint of light catches your eye, and you stoop down, plucking a rugged chunk of sea glass from the shore. Rolling it between your fingertips, you delight in the tide-smoothed surface and holding it up to the sunshine, you watch as it illuminates, a beautiful smoky quartz hue that reminds you of the tall glass vase sitting empty beside the fireplace at home.
Pocketing the treasure, you meander back through the dunes and nestle down amongst the grasses that poke up through the sand. Swaying to and fro as the breeze whips around them, they instil instant serenity, and you sit a while, transfixed by the utter beauty of your secluded spot.
