Craving an afternoon at your parents, you make the journey over, excited to catch up and be spoiled a little.

Greeted by a huge hug from your mum and some very overexcitable licks from her faithful chocolate Labrador, you feel instantly welcome and perch on a bench in the hallway to take off your boots. Carefully placing them in the spot in the shoe rack where they always go, you smile – nothing ever changes here.

Padding into the comforting green living room, you sink into the sofa, soothed by the ever-familiar surroundings and homely aroma. Watching your mum bring through a cup of tea, made just how you like it, and a plate of your favourite biscuits, you beam, thrilled with your decision to come over.

Chatting into the early evening, you watch as the sun moves slowly across the room, casting its orange glow on the chrome details dotted around the space.
