Lounging on the outdoor sofa with an ice-cold glass of sparkling water, you gaze back into the house. It now looks exactly like the dream home you envisaged all those months ago.
The new kitchen extension is finally complete after months of upheaval, but it was totally worth it. With the bi-fold doors pulled right back, there is a seamless flow between indoors and out. The sandy-coloured floor tiles span the length of the kitchen and spill out to make the patio where you're now ensconced.
The entire space is white to keep it light and airy. The only concession to colour is the hay-hued base units of the huge kitchen island. They both ground the room and bring warmth.
Your attention moves to the most magnificent cloud of sixty-two opaque baubles suspended above the breakfast bar. The white frosted bubble chandelier was the only light you considered, and you even worked with the architect to ensure you'd have plenty of ceiling height.
An elongated rectangular white metal ceiling rose drops five white Italian fabric cables. Each ends with a silver bulb holder, bulb and surrounding cluster of frosted glass bubbles. The subtle silver detail picks out the other chrome accents in your barstools and unit handles. It's almost as if it is designed especially for your space.
By day, it provides contrasting organic curves to the parallel lines of the units. By night, the bubble chandelier glows with a cosy ambience. The chrome dimmer switch on the wall allows you to control the light level to perfection, depending on your mood.
