Taking aim, you satisfyingly cannon the balls across the vibrant green-felt snooker table. Standing upright and resting your cue down, you hold your breath as the clack of the ricocheting balls subsides, and you hear the gratifying thud of a red dropping into the pocket…closely followed annoyingly by the white.
Waiting for your partner to take their turn, you retire to a well-worn leather armchair - they usually take a while. Picking up the weighty cut-crystal tumbler by your side, you slurp the Bourbon Old Fashioned and feel your shoulders loosen just a little.
Inhaling deeply, you pick up the smokey notes from a honey and tobacco candle burning on the mantlepiece above the crackling fire. Creating a games room come library as part of the house's total renovation was a non-negotiable.
This dark den has a mysterious air, and you love it. Dramatic black walls, faux panelling, plush ivory carpet and a full-sized snooker table stands proudly in the middle of the room.
As your attention turns to the sound of your mate finally taking his turn, you glance up at the striking gold glass bubble pendant light hovering cloud-like above the table. The moment you saw it, you knew it was the one. A long rectangular ceiling rose, in itself unusual, makes the light the ideal shape to light the 'contest'. Sixty glass baubles make up the entirety of the chandelier, which hangs from exquisite black Italian fabric cables.
The gold dimmer switches to your right enable you to control the lighting level precisely, another detail that pleases you immensely.
