Reaching an old wooden stile, you clamber over one at a time, remembering how you both struggled to make it past the first step as children. Hopping back onto solid ground, you continue through the fields, noticing the sky grow darker as the fluffy white clouds on the horizon transition to a mesmerising shade of peach. Taking the next left, you head home, feeling refreshed and ready to nestle down for the evening.
Twisting the key in the lock, you step into your warm hallway, the heat flushing your cheeks as your friend follows closely behind. Feeling your fingertips meet the brass toggle switch, you flick it on, watching your wall lights glow to life.
