Light switches and sockets are small details, but they have a big effect on how finished a room feels. For interior designers and architects, they’re an opportunity to continue the design language across every wall — adding warmth, contrast, subtle metallic detail or a more considered finish where standard fittings would fall flat.
Through Dowsing & Reynolds Pro-Partners, we support designers, architects and trade customers sourcing designer light switches and sockets for residential renovations, compact apartments, extensions and full-home projects.

Interior designer Edwina Boase used Dowsing & Reynolds switches and sockets throughout this Central Brighton studio apartment, created in collaboration with interior architect Marc Boase.
The brief was to reconfigure a compact studio into a calming, contemporary home inspired by Japanese architecture and design. Every inch of space needed to work harder, with the addition of a bedroom while preserving the apartment’s open feel, natural light and airflow.
Organic materials, Olive Ash wood, cork and an earthy, pared-back colour palette brought warmth and tranquillity to the space. Sliding pocket doors and reeded glass internal windows helped light move through the apartment, while Dowsing & Reynolds switches and sockets added a considered finishing detail across the walls.
The project was featured in Livingetc Small Spaces in May 2022.

Nick Elias Studio used Dowsing & Reynolds gold switches and sockets throughout GTS, a two-bedroom flat renovation near Oxford Circus.
The project used warm timber, bespoke joinery and carefully planned spatial changes to make the flat work more beautifully. Moving a single wall created a better-proportioned bedroom, service and storage areas, smart home controls and a kitchen carefully tucked beneath a bulkhead.
In the main kitchen-living area, dark oak-stained cabinetry is balanced with light bronze-veined granite and gold detailing, creating an everyday interior with warmth and refinement. D&R switches and sockets were used as part of that finishing layer, helping the practical details feel aligned with the wider design.

Boutique London design practice Aro Studio used Dowsing & Reynolds white switches, sockets and bubble lights in this Richmond residential project for a young couple.
The renovation included a kitchen extension, a reimagined upper floor layout and the addition of an en-suite dressing and shower room. Each space was designed with a soft-industrial feel, combining minimal design with warmth, texture and cohesive detailing.
Microcement finishes created flow throughout the home, while layered lighting and carefully chosen furnishings softened the overall look. D&R switches, sockets and lighting helped complete the scheme, adding design-led detail to a home that needed to feel functional, refined and beautifully connected from room to room.

Standard switches and sockets can interrupt a carefully designed room. Dowsing & Reynolds switches and sockets are chosen by designers who want every visible detail to feel intentional, from the main living space to bedrooms, hallways and utility areas.
Our range includes finishes for different design directions, from warm metallics and heritage-inspired tones to crisp architectural contrast and softer neutral palettes. That makes it easier to coordinate switches and sockets with lighting, hardware, taps, joinery and other interior details.
Designer switches and sockets work best when they’re considered early and specified consistently. Through D&R Pro-Partners, trade customers can source across rooms and product types, helping create a more cohesive finish throughout the project.
D&R Pro-Partners gives designers, architects and trade customers access to product discount, stock priority, favourable shipping rates and support from our dedicated trade team, making it easier to specify switches and sockets across residential projects.
