Lighting on The Great Interior Design Challenge
Did you see our lighting on The Great Interior Design Challenge on BBC 2 this week?
The Great Interior Design Challenge asks amateur designers to transform similar rooms in neighbouring houses. Following a brief set out by the homeowners, they have just three days to complete their designs. The winner from each episode goes onto the next round, until three designers are left to compete in the final and be crowned the winner.
Wednesday’s episode came from Aberaeron, Wales, with two designers competing in the quarter final. Their challenge was to transform both a bedroom and study in beautiful Georgian houses. You can watch the episode on demand here.
Richard Yeomans took on the challenge in Dai Jones’ home. In their bedroom he created a serene room with bold touches, including our lights. At the side of the large headboard Richard designed two bedside lights with items from our ‘Create Your Own Lighting‘ range. He hung fabric cable from wood at the top of the headboard and suspended LED bulbs in a smoked glass vase. We love the creativity.

We loved it and so did the judges Kelly Hoppen MBE and Daniel Hopwood (Director at the British Institute of Interior Design). Daniel commented that the lights were “pure genius” and we couldn’t agree more. They’re a real show stopper and we love how it adds a touch of industrial edge to their room.
