Sorry had to be done! We’re always keen to showcase our latest products and this month we’re throwing the limelight on our beautiful Swan Neck Wall Lights. But this is no swan-song. Quite the opposite…
Our range of enamel pendant lights has always been super popular with you guys and we wanted a way to use these lovely shades as wall lights too. James set to work, and the swan neck light is the result of his labours.
Check out this wall light if you haven’t already… It has a rugged raw steel light shade fixed to an elegantly curved, metal swan neck arm. A beautiful hybrid between masculine and feminine styles.
Personally, my favourite part of our swan neck wall lights is their steel light shades… Shades purposely left uncoated to gradually accumulate patches of surface rust. Choose a sleek polished copper ‘neck’ to contrast beautifully with the rugged shade or the antique effect for something more heritage. Alternatively, go for matching raw steel to emphasise the butch nature of this shade or the black for real urban cool.
Four gorgeous metal finishes to choose from…
We’ve picked the best of our metal finishes to co-ordinate with the raw steel shade… Choose your swan neck colour from black, polished copper, antique and of course raw steel. The bulb holder and conduit rose (the bit that fits to your wall and is very handy for hiding unsightly electrical ‘gubbings’) come in the same finish as your arm choice. Your light comes fully assembled, you just need to choose a light bulb and a spot in your home to put it.
Where to use our swan neck wall lights
The obvious response to this is ‘on a wall’ however, this stylish light looks incredible on walls in a whole variety of places. Use it as a reading light; position one beside a well-loved comfy armchair in your reading nook or fit one either side of your bed head. Make more of a statement by placing three above a long vintage Chesterfield in your living room where they’ll cast down beautiful pools of ambient light.
We love these swan lights in darker interiors, especially against our Spruce Things Up chalky matt emulsion. This intensely dark green paint has a grey undertone that complements the raw steel shade beautifully.
So dark and brooding just isn’t your thing… That’s cool, these swan lights look equally stylish in a light and airy bedroom where you just want a hint of industrial texture. Choose either raw steel or black swan arms and use our Polar Bear Selfie paint as your backdrop – a matt white paint with just the smallest hint of grey. It’s a beautiful look when combined with soft grey linen bedding and comfy knitted wool throws. For the bedroom, choose our globe squirrel cage LED light bulb – it casts an ambient glow that’s ideal for relaxing with a book before bed.
