Lovingly renovating your staircase has been a satisfying project to complete. The beautiful wooden stairs, hidden under a decades-old carpet and numerous layers of flaky paint, are now stripped, sanded and sealed – restored to their former glory.
Deciding to get creative, rather than conceal them again with more carpet, you've covered the stair risers in copper-tile effect tin plating, and it looks stunning with the blossom pink walls and skirting.
Polished copper toggle switches complete your entranceway's slightly retro NY feel. The only thing missing is an equally stunning statement pendant light to welcome you home.
Quite obviously, to your mind, it has to be a copper ceiling light tying in with the other metallic accents, but nothing too fussy that clashes with your paired back styling. Lampshades are out of the question. Bare bulbs feel more in keeping—something with a contemporary twist.
