Plonking the scales, a bag of flour, sugar, butter and a box of eggs on the worktop, you take a moment to mentally prepare yourself for the chaos that’s about to engulf your beautiful kitchen. Baking has never been your forte – you’re a messy cook at the best of times – but you’re always up for giving it a crack when the sugar cravings kick in. Gazing fondly around the room, you revel in the steely blue walls that cloak the space in calmness. Your eyes travel between the dramatic black accents that give your eyes interesting places to pause. And reaching for the drawer, you wrap your hand around a newly fitted beautiful black ellipse handle, delighting for a second in the cool smoothness against your palm before grabbing your whisk.
Sitting childlike on the worktop, you scoop out spoonfuls of thick chocolatey batter, the cakey goop momentarily cementing your mouth shut.
