A word from The Monkey Puzzle Tree…
‘Disorder in Stasis’ is a conceptual triptych wallpaper taken from an original piece of art by Joel Weaver. Here Joel explains the story behind ‘Disorder in Stasis’.
The Triptych comprises of two superwide panels Passerine I and II, and ‘Feldspar’, a striped paper available as a wide 10m roll.
Incredibly, the original striped artwork for Feldspar was drawn by hand by Joel Weaver, with the two originals measuring over 2m x 1m. Each precise line has been drawn by pen, with the fading corresponding to the ink running out and the darker lines indicating where a new pen has been started. The edge detail shows the end of each hand-drawn line. The paper is designed to retain its white border which includes Joel’s signature.
‘Disorder in Stasis – Feldspar’ can be used horizontally or vertically to create a unique statement either with or without the panels.
Disorder in Stasis Passerine I and II superwide wallpaper panels
These panels originate from the blotting paper that Joel used to clean his pen as he came to the end of each line whilst drawing Feldspar. The enlarged panels are a unique abstract work in which fingerprints and scribbles are clearly visible.
This abstract wallpaper really needs a flat wall to showcase its fascinating patterns in all their glory. And to appreciate the full effect, minimise the amount of furniture placed in front of it too. Do accessorise with carefully selected switches and sockets though. We think our black and white powder-coated ranges complement this wallpaper perfectly, without detracting from the paper’s beauty. Add to this subtle scheme with a black Hirst internal door handle or a white Kramer internal door handle.
The lead time on this wallpaper is a little longer as each piece is made to order. This means it’s absolutely bespoke to you, just like having a piece of artwork specially commissioned.
