Patio doors flung wide open, the gentle summer breeze tickles your brewer’s brass baton island pendant lights, making the soft pools of light on the countertop dance happily along to the music. Transfixed, you gaze at the bronze cylinders that hang sculpture-like along the length of your breakfast bar, expertly zoning off the dining room from the rest of the kitchen. They look beautiful in this soft pink space, and you love the enchanting ambience they create.
An eager knock on the door pulls you back to earth, and you hurry down the hallway, excited to see your friends. Hugs and kisses exchanged, you guide them out onto the patio to soak up the last of the fading rays while you dash inside to fetch some drinks, turning on the table lamps around the kitchen to banish the encroaching darkness.
